The Carbon Collective

Welcome to The Carbon Collective.

We specialize in establishing permanent native woodlands in the UK and have involvement with a range of other eco initiatives.

The UK needs more woodland. If we are to meet climate targets then large acreages of new woodlands need to be planted every year.

Some stats!

The woodland coverage of the UK is 2,825,000ha, which is 11.8% of total land area. The European average is about 32% - so we have a lot of ground to make up. Of the 11.8% less than one fifth is ancient woodland cover - making that about 2%.

With your help we aim to change this. Trees have multiple benefits for people, wildlife and the environment:

The above benefits actually feature in the Government's climate change delivery plan. We cannot continue to cut down more trees than we are planting.

We work with a range of established and innovative partners to deliver results. Some of these are outlined below:

Big Green Woods - Million Tree Challenge We are working in partnership with Big Green Woods to support regional tree planting projects across the length and breath of Britain. This unique initiative has an initial aim of planting over a million new native British trees over the next three and a half years.
Trees4Scotland Trees4Scotland are dedicated to planting new native woodlands in Scotland. The current project is called Teaghlach Wood and is located near the village of Comrie in Perthshire. What a stunning site in which to have your own tree growing for future generations to visit.
Whispering Wood The Whispering Wood is our memorial woodland. You get your very own engraved plaque next to your dedicated tree. We get as many trees planted for births, birthdays and marriages as we do for memorials which all contributes to making this a very special place.
